One of the strange realities of today’s world, what with Flickr, ETSY, BigCartel, etc. is that there are many amazing companies out there that you haven’t heard of yet. Put UGMONK in that category; at least for me. Stumbled across them on BigCartel yesterday and was blown away. Killer!

I’m absolutely hooked on Endurance Mountain Biking now. I think it saved my from being fat (because I was well on my way). Training has been going well and I’m doing my first 24 Hour MTB Race in July along with a few others later in the year.

Anyway, I’m already planning for 2011 and stumbled across this beauty of a race the other day, the DIRTY KANZA 200. A 200 mile MTB race in the plains of Kansas on remote access roads. Sign me up in 2011!

This is one of the most eye-opening things I’ve read in a long time… because it’s absolutely me. Which is scary. Between the iPhone, laptop, my day job, my start-up? I bombard my brain constantly! Sigh.

Lately, it’s taken its toll. My stress levels have been going up and so I decided to deliberately cut way back on my consumption of mobile media. After a withdrawal period I’ve noticed a night and day difference! I feel like my brain is working correctly again.

But that’s scary, right? It shouldn’t be that way. It’s scary that we’re rewiring our brains to a point of permanent distraction. So, read this. Take note. You know your own habits, adjust accordingly. It’ll do you a world of good!
